Originally a monthly title with all-new material and became fortnightly after the first twenty highly successful issues. Then followed four years of showcasing new talent as well as showing most of the Dredd-related characters within its pages ( Typically one or two Dredd stories out of four ). The megazine was very open to criticism and debate with a lively letters page and higher average of readership (about 24 although this figure in quite old) but smaller (and more fickle) readership lead to high price which forced the megazine back to being a monthly, a sort of publishing vicious cycle. Six months later 27 pages of 2000AD dredd reprints were introduced as a cost saving measure, but since have disappeared and the megazine is back old form. Although some Dredd-related series like the popular PSI Anderson and Chopper have since returned to parent magazine, 2000AD. Missonary Man started in the megazine, and moved 2000AD for a few years only to return in 2002.
